Status Scientific launches the Mentor Refrigerant Identifier for R1234yf & R134a

Status Scientific is proud to announce the launch of the Mentor Refrigerant Identifier for R1234yf and R134a purity analysis for the automotive AC market. The Mentor Automotive Refrigerant Identifiers provide simple and accurate refrigerant analysis to determine refrigerant purity in vehicle air conditioning systems and refrigerant storage cylinders. The Mentor is a user-friendly, cost effective R-1234yf and R-134a refrigerant purity analyzer designed with state-of-the-art non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology for the identification of refrigerant gases in automotive air-conditioning systems.

The Mentor family of products offers a portable unit that is compact, easy to handle, and the lightest analyser on the market at 3lbs. The battery-powered analyser has software selectable modes for R1234yf and R134a VDA and SAE testing requirements. The portable model has a graphic LCD, keypad, VDA pass / fail LEDs, battery charging LEDs, USB communications, stores up-to 50 test results, and offers an optional Bluetooth printer for hard-copy test results.

The Mentor portfolio also offers two fixed versions for integration into AC Recovery Machines with a bezel mount version and an internal mount version. Both models allow for simple setting to VDA or SAE mode with PC software and connect to AC recovery machines through USB or RS232 communications. Limited refrigerant is needed for each test and both models connect easily to SAE J2843 and J3030 AC Service machines.
